Here is my beef with RE. This is in no way aimed at you, you're my Californian brutha'. RE may have sold out, great. What kind of money did they put into devloping this new line of drivers? Idea, don't try to expand your line if you arent confident in your ability to design, produse, and finance it. Custom tooling is amazingly expensive. So instead of looking at actively expanding their dealer network (researching dealers and calling them asking "would you like to carry RE, our woofers hold such and such records and are used and endoresed by such and such compeditors") They decided to try and up the ante' on the bandwagon. So, now I cant get an RE woofer except online from wholesalers selling at an amazing $75 under MSRP or direct from RE at MSRP because my closest dealer is over three hours away. Lets look at the senario that a shop carries JL, Kicker, MTX, Eclipse, and RE. Kid walks in with a $3000 budget and wants something nice. They see this RE MX mounted in the display wall, it looks fancy with lots of bling. But it also has the MSRP price tag of a w7 (most dealers post the MSRP then tell them they are making them a 'deal' later on). Their friend has a w7 and it hits hard. Who the **** is RE? Well I think I will get that W7. RE has done in ~7 years what took JL 20+, Roxford Fosgate 30+, MTX 20+, and USamps what? 18 years? USamps still isnt widely known except with audiophiles (widely known comapred to the above mentioned companies). See the difference? They where not ready to move to a JL-like mainstream when the people who KNEW RE where the few thousand reading on the forums and actually paying attention at car shows and competitions. Some people bash RE to hop on the RE bashing bandwagon, yes. Others are kinda ticked for a reason. Nothing agianst USamps. USamps saved RE's ***.
