The way I see it, not counting the H701 DVD options, there's pretty much 2 old-school CD only SQ decks available in the states, and one DVD.. The DRZ, the P9 combo, and the F1 combo. Then you get into the modular H701 + DVD stuff, which is probably the point of diminishing returns for most of the market I'll bet.. There are few folks that can see the value in that next level of components for a car setup.. So Clarion, Alpine and Pioneer pretty much have the high-end SQ unit market wrapped up in the states.. Don't even see Eclipse really even playing.. Not sure what to think about the CD7100. I think the whole market is in a state of .. what's next? which direction do we go? Do we go in-dash DVD/Nav/iPod with lower level audio parts? Do we get onto the OEM integration band-wagon as cars increasingly won't allow aftermarket din head units? Do we spread out and offer something for everyone, though that means nothing spectacular? Then I hear a Volvo SUV last weekend with a dynaudio setup that made me think.. Well, what's the point in upgrading.. I can live with that. Dang! Reasons I'm glad to see the old-styled DRZ dead-head still alive and kicking. When they discontinue it, I'm hoping they don't throw out the baby with the bath-water.
