It's evident the internal components of the DRZ is yes on a different level than most other head units and certainly your typical $300 all-in-one head units... These are the same reasons the Nak CD700II with absolutely NO processing is also $1400 IF IF IF you can find one. Given the internal component upgrades over standard head units, the copper chassis, the external power supply, the fat fat DAC's and op-amps, the sure enough discrete volume attenuator, the straight signal out by itself regardless of processing should be expected to be significantly better... It will put the weakest link in your sound chain in the rest of your components and the level of detail in your amp and especially wiring and speaker installations. So, I've heard great head units with fair speakers and little effort given to the install... sounded eh.. so so... and I've heard medium level head units with great attention to detail in speaker installs and chosen components... Night and day difference even with lesser head units.. So with any THIS vs THAT head unit competition, don't forget the rest of the build. Still.. The DRZ spanks. And I am a pioneer fan also and I do think the 880 is a fine head unit, provided yes you do not hot-swap rca's. I am surprised to see the lowly underdog dxz775usb get some positive mention though.. Seems like an ok head unit but gets very very little press. Oh.. Meant to post... Here's about as much as you'd ever want to read about the DRZ9255: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2586
