[QUOTE="Casper80, post: 2408653, member: 571933"] what i have now... eclipse cd8445 cadence z8000 2 channel amp cadence daytona 1600.1 amp focal 165v1 alpine type x 12" ported the problem is with the gain setting there. 3 preout in the hu, connected the front rca output to the 2 channel amp but not installed yet, connect the non fader output from hu to input of the daytona 1600.1. when trying to set the gain, the daytona amp barely register any voltage on the dmm. the hu set to pro mode with flat eq, all the sound proccesiing is off(csII, trubass etc), the volume set to 52/80. using 0db 50hz test tone, the gain on the amp when is all the way down, it has couple volts, half way up it have 8-13volts, almost all the way up it have 30~40 volts. the question is on the amp i'm not understanding. wanted to get out about 1000 watts@2ohm. which equal about 44.72v. the amp spec is 1600@1 or 1000@2ohm. is that means the gain have to be almost all the way up for the desired voltage? it's a monoblock amp and i just stick the dmm into any of the speaker hole and test right? when setting gain where should all the knob on the amp set to? ssf, bassboost, lpf, etc. thanks.
