After getting a new amp i've noticed that the amp is drawing too much power from my alternator... The amp draws around 45 amperes and my stock alt puts out an average of 60 amperes while hot. Just last night while i was driving, the lights were slightly dimming and i noticed that the dash lights also dimmed, a little while after that the dash lights went out completely so i turned off the H/U. After getting home I couldn't find any blown fuses for the lights and am not sure why it happened, the lights above the mph gauge still work like the change oil light and the digital odometer still works, I just can't see how fast i'm going at night now which is annoying. Recently tonight I noticed that while driving and listening to a song with repetitive bass notes, i had the H/U volume up to 24 and the lights would dim when the bass hit, the weird thing is that after i turned up the H/U to 30 volume the lights stopped dimming... It's not because of differences in the song either, it has the same frequency repetitive notes throughout it and just to double check i tested it during the chorus so frequencies and notes are the same. Why would the dash lights stop working, and yet the headlights and everything else still works, and why would an increase in volume stop the lights from dimming??
