I'm working on a 1969 VW Bus and making a tailgating vehicle out of it. I've put together audio systems before (basic HU, Amp, Speakers etc), but never something as complex as what I'm looking to do here. Currently there is no audio system installed, so we are starting from scratch. This will be a dual purpose vehicle, so the setup needs to meet two requirements. First, sound good for road trips. And second, be able to play loud and clear once parked for a couple of hours. I plan on getting a generator so battery life isn't a huge concern. So far I figure that I want these components: Double Din Touch Screen HU with DVD At least 1 12" + sub 32" HD LCD TV (Mounted in "trunk", facing backwards for tailgating) 20" HD LCD TV (Mounted inside) I've put some thought into speakers, but not sure what the best setup would be. I figure 2 full range up front, 4 in back, and maybe 2 more in the rear would be sufficient. My goal is a total cost of about $2000 (LCD tvs will run about $500 for both), but less expensive is always a plus. I don't need top of the line gear...cheap ebay amps always gave me good enough results. Any suggestions are appreciated...I'm not up to date at all with current technology and could use advice! Thanks!
