Okay, I know little about audio and less about cars and even less about electricity... stuff... so here's my dumb question: I want to know if I need to plan on upgrading my battery/alternator for the system I'm building. I know there is a formula or something for this, but I'm hoping someone just knows off hand what I might need so I can plan my budget better. Here is what I plan to have running in my truck soon: '99 Tahoe 4dr 2whldrv Stock alt, one battery, stock wires Premier DEH-P980BT HU PRS-D4200F (1200W-max, 75x4@4ohms) Kicker K650.2 Componants, 6.5's in rear doors as well. Kicker zx1500.1 (1500w) 2 12" CVX's (750WRMSx2(1500wrms), 1500WMAXx2(3000WMAX)) I figure to run a 1/0ga wire from the battery to a distrobution block, then send I guess a 4ga wire to each amp. Unless the zx1500.1 needs a 2ga... I was considering getting extra 1/0ga to replace the wires from the alternator and ground wires... something something... I read it here in a sticky. I need to read it again. But does this setup need an ho alt or special battery? Capacitor? There is a spot under the hood for a second battery if I need it. But then I guess I'd need an alternator. I have no idea what to even start looking for here or how much money this is going to add to my plans. Thanks if you can help.
