Hello everyone, recently I have been thinking about upgrading my system but i'm not sure that what I have can handle the new equipment. First of all, I drive a 1998 Toyota 4Runner and I believe the alternator is still stock (Hasn't been changed while i’v had it). I am currently have 2 skar 12s (https://www.skaraudio.com/products/sdr-12-inch-car-subwoofer) running on a RP 1,200 watt monoblock amp (https://www.skaraudio.com/products/rp-1200-1d-car-amplifier). I am also running 4 Skar 6.5 inch door speakers (https://www.skaraudio.com/products/rpx65-6-5-inch-coaxial-car-speakers I believe it is these), on a 4 channel 500w amp (https://www.skaraudio.com/products/rp-75-4ab-car-amplifier). I have provided links for information such as the RMS and stuff like that as I don't quite understand all of that yet. I also currently have a cheap head unit from Walmart, which I plan to upgrade as well. When I purchased my car it did not have one so I purchased the first one I could find. Im looking to put in 4 ds18 6.5in door speakers as well as 4 3.8in tweeters. What I am currently thinking about is replacing my 500w amp with my current 1200 watt amp and buying a 2,000 watt amp for my subs. However, I have had people tell me running 4 speakers on a monoblock is not good, and I've had people tell me it doesn’t hurt anything. I also plan to run 0 gauge wire. Could I do this? Also, as I'm on a stock alternator, do I need to upgrade my alternator? Or could i just get away by adding a second battery? Thanks.
