That's how i used my DMP1. The screen stopped working after less than 3 months. The dmp1 seriously blows nuts. Buy at your own risk. Be prepared to want to buy an empeg afterwards -- i thought just like you "hey! i could get 3 of these for an empeg"...guess what? I bought one dmp1 and decided it was well worth the cost for an empeg... The lack of a DIN slot is a problem, though. Be warned, though, not mounting the faceplate resulted in mine breaking..and i was meticulously careful with it. Also, it's not PAUSING to choose more songs...it's STOPPING. The dmp1 doesn't support playlists at all...it just supports a basic folder hierarchy...select folder, play all inside...just like your deck. The wireless support from the DMP1 sucks also...with the custom kernels it never worked right, and with the original it never worked right.
