k, so i am running 2 12' type x's in a sealed box... right now i have 1 running off a 500/1... the type x's are rated to run at 500 rms... and it's a jl amp, so it's okay... but as everything goes, i need more! LoL i have a second X laying around and the box is built... just need an amp. so i have been looking into just buying 2 jl 1000/1's pick em both up for about $800. i like the jl's, i have had a lot of experience with them and i love the tuning capabilities and the sq that i get out of them... the amps are stable from 1.5 and push 1000 rms out from 1.5 to 4 ohms... dont understand how that works, or if there is a way to bypass the restricter and push higher rms at 2 ohm... but anyways, my question is if there is a better way to get 2000 rms with better sound quality without blowing the bank. the subs are dual 4 coil, so i can wire them at 1 or 2 ohms if i want.
