Have a read. Tell me what you think. Prairie Sound Pressure League(PSPL) The PSPL is a league in which people may enter there car in which there is a subwoofer and subwoofer amplifier installed. In which they will be involved in a competition that determines who has the loudest car stereo. The PSPL was formed to help young and new competitors get involved in sound pressure level competition. The rules are setup in such a way that everyone can be competitive regardless of financial standing. I feel this league should help promote the learning and general social interest aspects of car audio throughout the prairie. Some of the Benefits of Competing in the PSPL: - Low start up cost - You’re given the chance to compete against people with the same quality equipment - Ability to attract more competitors due to low cost and relaxed guidelines - Ability to let competitors try more installation ideas without breaking league guidelines - Prove to your peers that you can not only build a loud car stereo, but also it can endure a Deathmatch. - Fresh rules and ideas for those who have competed in the past and have lost interest Future plans for start up season are as follows: - To get everyone that’s interested in car audio out to shows - To develop and grow the PSPL into a good and sustainable league - To make every car audio shop across the prairies join the PSPL and start demonstrating there equipment and there know how at live events - To tweak the rules into making the PSPL events run smooth and enjoyable as possible for both the competitors and the spectators Swear In As a competitor of the PSPL I swear to: - Always take all means necessary not to disturb others with the capabilities of my competition car stereo - Never do modification to my vehicle that will endanger myself or others due to unsafe installation conditions - To never act out against another competitor verbally or physically - To never heckle a another competitors equipment brand and or quality of install - to never exceed 85 db level for an extended period of time harming my ears and my passengers General Rules - Competitors must have interior of car in stock position with all factory panels installed in front of the B pillar - No more then 4 rear mounted + one under the hood battery can be used - Subwoofer cabinets and walls must be behind the B pillar at all times with the exception of trucks with center mounted single sub systems - Competitors can not be in the vehicle when db levels exceed 138 db - Vehicle doors must remain closed during the 30 second metering process. - Sensor will be placed in the passenger side dash location on the front window 10” from side and 10” from bottom frame - The 1st place winners from each class have the option of participating in the death match against one another, if any of the first place winners decline running in the Deathmatch, then the second place winner will have the opportunity. - In the Deathmatch the person who can maintain the db level that won there class the closest, for the full song chosen by PSPL, wins the Deathmatch. Competitors are permitted to open car doors to shut down system early if they choose to quit. - Competitors are not permitted in vehicles during the Deathmatch - Classes will be determined by the manufactures suggested retail price (MSRP) - Of your subwoofer(s) and subwoofer amplifier(s) combined Ex: Cliff Designs CDX20A $ 899.00 + Planet Audio FU15-4 $ 314.99 = total of $1213.99. - If the MSRP price of a particular piece of equipment can't be found or looked up, the master judge and vendor judge will make the best price estimate on said equipment and determine competitors class. - If there is a dispute between master judge and vendor judge and or competitor the said competitor will not be able to compete in current event - Master Judge will make all possible efforts to prove said price on disputed equipment for next event. Classes $500 & Under $501-$1000 $1001-$1500 $1501-$2500 $2501-$3500 $3500+ How a Winner is Determined - The person with the highest sound pressure reading in the given 30 second time frame within the two separate opportunities given to meter - 1ST and 2nd prize awarded Deathmatch - The 1st place winners from each class have the option to participate in the Deathmatch against one another, if any of the first place winners decline running in the Deathmatch, then the second place winner will have the opportunity. - In the Deathmatch the person who can maintain the db level that won there class the closest, for the full song chosen by PSPL, wins the Deathmatch. Competitors are permitted to open car doors to shut down system early if they choose to quit. - In the event of a tie, the competitor that accomplished there db rating with the lowest frequency wins. Description of event day - Times for registration, tweak and competition start - Registration in the am to allow time for the tweak runs - Registration will include year, full name and model of subwoofer(s) and subwoofer amplifier(s) - Amount paid for subwoofer(s) and subwoofer amplifier(s) - Regular price of subwoofer(s) and subwoofer amplifier(s) - Sign waiver from PSPL and vendor - Tweak times will be provided in am and will commence in order competitors register - In event the competitor isn’t present when called upon to meter, then tweak time rights will be revoked. - Competition will start in $500 class and end with $3500 + class - Quick equipment inspection will take place in lanes, competitors will be called to the lanes twice if necessary, if competitor doesn’t respond or system isn’t ready competitor will forfeit first meter - Same applies for second meter - Each competitor will have the chance to meter twice, judges will take highest score - After all classes are done metering, judges will announce winners in each class at which time they will come up to claim prize and decide whether they will enter Deathmatch - Competitors who signed up for the Deathmatch will be expected to sign another waiver form and meter according to order called into the lanes - The 1st place winners from each class have the option to participate in the Deathmatch against one another, if any of the first place winners decline running in the Deathmatch, then the second place winner will have the opportunity. - A certificate or trophy will be provided for each class 1st or 2nd place - Equipment prize will be provided for DeathMatch supplied by vendor - Event fees are $15. $10 go to vendor $5 to PSPL for expansion website fee’s - PSPL will maintain a small website announcing competitors scores and places
