Since then I have fixed it by running the screws the opposite way and putting locking nuts on each screw and getting the metal welded where it had ripped. Since doing this it has started tearing the metal in other places around the trunk latch and making my trunk pop up when I turn up the volume a little. I'm going the have it welded again tomorrow, but is patching it up when it rips the only thing I can do?
