well my friend bought my kx from me about 2 years ago and I built him a nice slot ported box for an aq 15. I had no part in wiring the amp just the sub. Right off the bat I could tell something was wrong. At low volume the bass sounded bad. At higher volumes it still sounded odd. Not clean at all. I checked his amp settings, and they were fine. It just souded distorted. wellafter about 2 months the 15 was dead. So I built him another box for a mach 5 15. same story, so he bought a 3rd 15, another maw 15. and its on its last leg now. So i told him we could take my box, 1.3 cubes 25 sqin port tuned to 38hz for my aq 10, and put it in there and see how it sounds. Because I know how it sounds in my set up. Well same story again. My little 10 was belting out some awful cries for help on that amp. Sounded terrible. So, what could be wrong with the amp internally to have such poor output quality. It sounds like clipping, square waves, and cancellation all in one. I call tech support at kicker and they said if it powers up and plays, then it is fine. O.K. whatever. power and ground are secure, sub is wired in phase, amp just dosent want to make clean powr like it did for me back when it was new. any ideas, or who i could ask about amps? thanks,
