Hey guys, I'm a newbie on this forum -- so peace, love and all that good stuff; nice to meet you. Anywho, I could use a second or third opinion on an issue with my head unit...had it for about 3 years now - certainly out of warranty. For the past several months now, the volume control has had a mind of its own. It always starts at "0" upon power up, and likes to randomly shoot the volume back down to "0" or sometimes max out at "50" on its own, no matter where I set it. Now it gets better, because the physical volume buttons don't seem to work at all, so you have to use the scroll on the touch screen. You can control turning it up...but if you just want to back if off a couple of clicks, it will shoot it all the way back to "0". Initially you may be thinking, "Oh, it's probably the ribbon wire broke at some point."...but I don't think that's the problem. This issue has persisted on and off, so that every once in a while I have full control again for a couple of days, then it goes back into batshit crazy mode. I'm at a loss at this point. So what say you of the knowledgeable masses? Loose wire? Software issue? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!
