Yep, you read that correctly, I'm throwing a little SQ in the mix this time. After 3-4 years of competing and not really having a daily install that was both comfortable for myself and a passenger and didn't sound like ass, I finally decided to build something new. This all started after the maxxsonics show when I picked up some nice equipment for mega cheap and thought that I should actually USE the stuff. Now this is just the beginning, as I do plan to revamp the front stage/highs amp as well. As for the new equipment, it will be: -6 MB Quart DWC204 8's powered by the zx2500 @ 2.6 ohms -MB Quart RSD 213 5.25's replacing the kicker KS 5.25's -Seas Prestige 1" textile dome tweeters replacing the harsh kicker titanium tweets that are in the A-pillars -And, hopefully, an MB Quart DSC480 running the tweeters and mids ACTIVE! This is my hope anyways, but in case I don't I did pick up a set of bi-ampable crossovers at the maxxsonics show. This is going to be a simple install because I don't have the room for kick pods or door pods, so the mids have to remain in the dash. Anyways, on to the pics! The first thing I started on was the new sub enclosure. I wanted to keep it simple, so it will be sealed. This is also due to space constraints since I wanted to keep my seat pretty far back. How the subs will fit. I got the box installed tonight and I must say I am IMPRESSED for some mega, MEGA cheap 8's. I got these guys for $5 a piece! So far they are very solid, good response, and overall sound very nice. Don't take a whole lot of power, but I'm not too concerned about that right now anyhow. However I do plan to upgrade to some beefier 8's eventually. I'm still a basshead. It's nice to have a daily install for once. The single 10" was loud and all, but it always had 2 problems. 1) I couldn't have a passenger because the seat was all the way forward and upright, and 2) It sounded like ass and had a very narrow bandwidth.
