Time to decide: Icon vs Q?

ok, so ive been creeping around here quite a bit lately, and its finally time to make a purchase. Before I order though, I want some feedback on my choices. I have narrowed down my decision to a 10" Q or a 10"ICON. Either will be in an aero ported fiberglass box (need my trunk space //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif). I would love some input as to the Q vs ICON choice, or any other suggestions would be great too

i had my 15" q in 3.8 @ 30 hz on a sundown sae1000d. loved the setup. ate the lows and get very loud.

i picked them both up for under $550 used. the amp was from jacobs (sundownz) cleaning sale thread on soundsolutionsaudio.com.

cant comment on the icon but everyone seems to be very pleased with them.

werd, cant go wrong with either one, i know BJ Fisher sells loaded enclosures with Icon subs, if your looking for a box to!

It has taken a few days to get the time to check back but thanks to everyone for quick replies. I have added the RD sonance to my list, seems like i have some more to decide on, but it looks like all my choices will work great. Is there any one woofer that would work better in the type of enclosure i need to use? The winner will go into an aero ported fiberglass box on the side of the trunk to save space. (2008 Jeep patriot)

Both are solid subs. You will like both. Which you choose will really just come down to which you want.

Wow. You really do need to just flip a coin. They're both great subs. You should have made this thread a poll.

I would vote the Q, fully loaded.

I'm finally back after a few days out of town. The Q would probably be optionless i think. What kind of differences will I notice between a base and a fully loaded Q? I'm thinking a little more power handling and probably better cooling, right? Pretty much more longevity/ reliability?

Im pretty sure i like the ICON a little better, mostly because it comes packaged with that sundown 1000. The package makes my life easy and will hopefully leave some money for some components up front

I picked the Icon out of the two because it came with a sundown amp. Got it in a 12 and have never looked back. Real nice sub, I have yet to hear a q though.

I understand the output is suppose to be a bit higher on the Q and the Icon is suppose to like a ported box a little bit better. Take a gander at the specs and look at them side to side. AA doesn't have an online sales anymore, you can go to their website and find local dealers.

Do a search on here and diymobileaudio.com there's bound to be a Ton of threads on this.
