A while back I got a used 12w3v2 and after about a month, it quit working. Testing to see if it was blown while the car was on, I found out you had to press the cone down to make it work. Long story short, that crap got old hella fast when it would stop working during traffic lol. So I called up Unique, and asked what I could do since the tinsel lead was seperated. They said it would be fine to hook up the amps wiring to the voice coil, instead of the connection part. So I do all of this, and about a week later I'm listening to the sub and it just dies. So I try the push cone thing, and notta. I take the sub out and the voice coil is COMPLETELY burned (one of 'em), and the other is burned but still hanging on by a thread.</p><p></p><p>I set my gains relatively low though, which is the odd thing. On my head unit (A pioneer DEH4800), I had the bass I believe at +3, and the 'lows' setting at like +4.</p><p></p><p>I bought the amp off of a former Rockford Employee though, and it I believe is remanufactured //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif I like it though, its yet to cut out on me (Its a T4004).</p><p></p><p>Wow....sorry to ramble.
