They’re loud and get low in a custom enclosure, like a subwoofer is supposed to. I’ve worked with a ton of cheap subs and thrown many prefab boxes away from people’s cars, and there aren’t actually may subs that won’t produce bass when it’s modeled in software and put into an optimal enclosure. Sometimes the cheaper subs are just so inefficient that the box size required to squeeze every bit of bass you can from it is just way too large. In the Pyle line of subs I mentioned earlier, they literally have 1 sub in their entire lineup that is realistically usable in a vehicle. The 10 inch sub wants a larger box than the 15. Ported boxes is out of the question for any of their stuff, or it will fail. Point to this whole ramble of mine, is that your system is only as good as the install and the enclosure. You can find some good sound for a cheap price, and skar is definitely good in their price. In a good box, their as good as any other sub in their price range.
I I responded to a thread not long back and stated that the 15 inch Pyle subwoofer isn’t actually bad for a 40$ sub, fully anticipating a full on slaughter. I was surprised when it didn’t happen. Same usually happens with skar, and lime I’ve stated before, I wouldn’t buy skar personally, but I’ve done a few enclosures for other people who bought skar, and I have t9 say that they are not bad subs at their price.
