thinking of buying JL 12w0

look at wiring them down to 2 ohms and get a jbl 600.1....are w0s DVC or SVC? if they are SVC....get 4 ohm voice coils...if they are DVC then get 2 ohm voice coils

normally i am a big endorcer of JL, but i got to be honest with you, those will probably not even last long on a 600.1 much less a 1200.1.....they are not very good subs, there are definitely better out there (other brands) for the money. They are SVC by the way so you would want 4 ohms.

they are svc im preatty sure and yes i agree with evo i would go with an 400 watt amp or at smallest an 300.1 , an i also think the rf would hit much deeper an harder imo an if u go tthat rf i would then recomend the 600.1 ........an 1200.1 pushing two 12wo's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif

couldnt i just turn down the gain on the amp to match the subs specs?? i just got this amp and my 15" rockford that i got doesnt work at all now, it blew. guys at Dukes told me they would sound really good, even my friend that works there.

would i be best off going to the zeb.com and buying the 2 he2 15's for 230 and making my own box then?

OR i want to spend around 200 for 2 12's or 2 15's what should i get

I just happen to have two 12 inch Jl Audio w0's for sale. I also have 2 12 inch Jl Audio w6's for sale. Let me know if you are interested.

Originally posted by 94yodapickup the rf's would be more what u want i think the type r's sound dang good but they wont come close to slamin like 2 15" rf's
that is very true. the type r's will give you decent SQ. two 12" Type R's with around 300 or 400W RMS is PLENTY for dailing driving though. (even sealed)

I am going to have to disagree with the majority once again.

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the JL W0 line.

They are decent performers, and very well constructed; considering thier modestly affordable price.

A pair of 12w0's will handle the JBL 1200.1 without issue.

I used to push well over 1,000 watts into a pair myself, regularly. No issues whatsoever. More satisfaction than anything.

I would still not reccomend the JBL amp however. There are far better quality amps out there with similar power output, in various price ranges.

I would look into a few different models from Soundstream, Mmats, MTX, Alpine, Memphis, etc. to begin with.

The Alpine Type R's are an all arround decent woofer. Very responsive, and quite respetable SQ also. Definately worth a look into as well.

This leads me to ask why you are considering switching your current HE2 setup?

Are you looking for simple more bass? More SQ? More SPL?

What is your primary focus with your system?

The HE2 line from Rockford is definately rock solid. I used to run 4 HE2 15's and they were some amazing woofers.

I'd say, think about what you want your system to do for you, then make your decision.

If you are still set on the JBL 1200.1, I do have one that is basically new in box, that I am looking to sell. No problems with it at all. Just not what my system requires.

I also have a pair of Adire Audio Shiva's (12's) for sale too.

I am sure that you have heard of these by now, incredible subs with a lot of output!

If you would like more info or are interested in any of these items- let me know.

Seriously though, evaluate what you are looking for first; then go in that direction. Your ears will thank you!
