Are all H/Us capable of running active? What differece could I notice audible between the standard setup and an active one? If I went active and needed two 4 channels, what amps would be good. I already have two Autoteks and was offered a couple others that I could use to go active (believe they were two channel amps though which wouldn't work for me with 2 sets of comps). Having 4 Autotek MM amps in the truck would be pretty sweet but I was already leaning toward the Rainbow KW2270s. Can someone offer advice? I'm retarded when it comes to front stages. [QUOTE="germanyt, post: 3543555, member: 564481"] So I don't know much about active setups but they seem to be popular with the SQ crowd and since I'm going all out with my sub stage I figure I shouldn't slouch when it comes to my fronts. First I need to know exactly what it means to go active. This is what I know, or think I know, so far. I would need two 4 channel amps to run 2 sets of comps. Use one 4 channel for the mids and another for the tweets. I wouldn't be using the crossovers that come with the comps because the ams would act as the crossover. How does the H/U come into play? Are all H/Us capable of running active? What differece could I notice audible between the standard setup and an active one? If I went active and needed two 4 channels, what amps would be good. I already have two Autoteks and was offered a couple others that I could use to go active (believe they were two channel amps though which wouldn't work for me with 2 sets of comps). Having 4 Autotek MM amps in the truck would be pretty sweet but I was already leaning toward the Rainbow KW2270s. Can someone offer advice? I'm retarded when it comes to front stages. Thanks.
