I'm not familiar with the Bose system in the Cadillac, but I recently did some work on a Bose system in a Porsche. The speakers were by far the weakest part of the system. The next weakest was power for the subs. I replaced all of the speakers and added an amp for the subs (using a line level converter, since there is no pre-amp out), and the system sounds 100% better. A full swap might have been better, but the Porsche (like many of the newer cars) has an optical bus that ties into the HU, amp, alarm system and NAV system. Not sure if there is a similar issue with the Cadillac, but my guess is he will get a big improvement from just upgrading the speakers.
