Personally I can get ahold of factory keys for all domestic vehicle; I get law enforccement catalogues all the time and my dad has a badge(US Customs). A criminal probably won't have that much harder of a time obtaining them. There are only about 50 variations of keys for the entire GM line, for instance(or at least this was true a few years ago). If you know how to cut key blanks then all you have to do is get the manufactures book for matching the VIN to the key and file them on the spot.
