Everything kept cutting in and out on him. ( fuse holder under the hood was loose ) As we were finishing up and listening, one of my new neighbors approached us. Started chit chatting with the guy, he seemed pretty cool. He asked if I could take a look at the amp he just installed in his truck. He said it would work for a little while. But the wiring got so hot, it was glowing red. He said he didn't have that problem with his smaller amp he installed a couple of months before. He said he would buy my friend an I a sixer for our troubles. So he proceeds to climb up under the truck. Well I got down on the ground so he could show me his fine work. He drilled about a 2" hole in the floorboard of the truck behind the drivers seat to pass the wire through. No grommet, silicone or anything just a wide open hole. But it get's better, the only wire I see going into this hole is a little black wire that was no more than 14-16 ga. So I asked him where was the power wire for this amp. He said that's the power wire feeding both of them :O I told him that was his problem. If he would like I would go ahead and rewire them for him with the proper gauge wire. He asked how much it would cost. I told him I would do it for nothing, I allready had the wire. And I would hate to see such a beautiful truck burn to ashes. He said he would sure appreciate it, and we could think of some way for him to repay the favor. So he popped the hood. And I climbed up under the hood to start taking the wire loose. I d@mn near pissed my pants when I looked under the hood.
