[QUOTE="ngsm13, post: 1494339, member: 544830"] Meow Pennis. I just never REALLY like jason's extremii. You can currently call and order them without the xover right now. In all honesty, I like them...but I was more impressed with the tweeter than the mid. Because I was able to take the tweeter lower, my entire front stage now sounds much cleaner, more well blended, and straight *******. (Aka, I don't have to take my XXX6.5's up to 2kHz+ anymore). I did a straight drop in off the Ascendant Poly into my sealed door pods against the XXX6.5's. The Ascendant poly's obiously extend much higher than the XXX's could ever dream of. But in my specific application, for my current setup, overall I like the XXX6.5's better. I litterally am playing the XXX6.5's without any EQ'ing currently. The Ascendant's i had to take out a little 400-700 and add a little 2.5kHz. I liked them, it may just be my sealed pods (they are around .2-.25 cubes). I think I was also getting some reflections off the fiberglass, creating a slight problem with standing waves inside the enclosure. But, the XXX's were getting around 200rms per side @2ohms and the Ascendant Poly's were getting around 100rms per side @4ohms, and the Ascendants were every bit as loud volume wise. They're very efficient. I just think that they didn't mate as well with my MT15, the XXX's had a better low end. (I had the XXX's @80hz w/ a 18dB/oct slope...and I had to take the Ascendant Poly's up to 100hz w/ a 24dB/oct slope). I am VERY excited about the cabinets we are going to build for home stereo mains with the ascendant's though. I can build a proper sized enclosure, and treat the interior correctly. Whew. Meow.
