Message: <blockquote data-quote="ConcernedMember" data-source="post: 1939891" data-attributes="member: 568459"><p>We were talking about overall, but then I began breaking things down and giving you reasons why the ERA doesn't reflect the ability of the personel in the bullpen.  Stats can lie, you want to know how your bullpen really performs, well whats a better measurement than when the game is on the line late in the game?  When you throw a relief pitcher in a game with a big lead or when you're being blown out,  as a pitcher you are just trying to throw strikes.  So that will in turn lead to the ball getting hit more so than if you were in a tight situation and being more selective of your pitches.</p></blockquote><p></p>
