so let me see if I understand this thread. The sole purpose is to see if a poster in this thread has good taste? What exactly does this prove? Who has the right to say said person has good taste in music? Debating music is like debating about religion. You aren't gonna change someones point of view, it's like talking to a brick wall. I have an open mind for music, as in I'll listen to something once and see if I like it or not. I consider myself a good candidate at discussing music or why music is good or not because music has been a huge part of my life. I've been in a few bands, I've played guitar for a few years, I've played drums for a while and I know how to play bass I just don't really. My knowledge for music helps me determine if a certain group is decent or not. A few things I look for would be technicality in the music, lyrics, emotion, the time signature(different timings, unique ones) or if the band has more than just one hit. Music is also a form of art, if they can express there views in ways besides lyrics... solely the music(instruments) they deserve a bow. If you don't understand what I mean, maybe you should listen to artists that don't use lyrics. I'm not sure if that's what you are looking for but that's what I'll contribute.
