I can think of many reasons weed should be legalized 1. People who are high will get along better (never seen a brawl caused by weed, lots by alcohol) 2. In order to O.D. on weed you'd have to smoke about 100lbs in under an hour(to yourself), as far as I can figure you would pass out long before you would come anywhere near that 3. Weed doesn't impare your reaction time - although some varieties do impare your thought processes, but have a nap and you are pretty well normal again. I would rather see people driving around HIGH then drunk 4. The "1 joint = 10 cigarettes" anology is about as true as the "greenhouse effect" (which scietists have proven wrong in the past couple of years, the earth experiences temperature increases every few thousand years and scientists have determined that we have been experiencing this NATURAL occurence over the past 200 years or so) 5. Natives, and I'm sure 100's of other cultures, have been smoking weed for 1000's of years and they new how to live a hell of a lot better than we "modernized" cultures do. And I'm pretty sure if it was as bad for you as people think then those cultures wouldbe extinct, but most are still thriving today (although we "white" folk forced them on to pathetic reserves and took away most of their freedoms) 6. Weed is not addictive to most people. The majority of pot smokers smoke it because they want to not because they crave it, or heir body "needs" it. 7. The government could make 100X as much money of the taxatio of weed than they do off cigarettes. Thus they could reduce other taxes (like GST, PST, STATE, INCOME), more likely though the money would end up in the beauracracies pockets. 8. Your body can, and will, process the THC in weed. Where as it cannot process alcohol or nicotine, these substances are passed through your blood system and out of the body. THC is taken in by the cells and broken down and used by the body. 9. Cigarettes kill 20,000+ people every year, alcohol about the same (including those not drunk but killed by a drunk), Weed, to my knowledge, has never resulted in death. 10. Weed, plain and simple, is not a drug. Drugs are produced by man, weed is a product of evolution, even though the most potent varieties are produced by careful breeding and growth, they are still natural, these varieties would have eventually been around, just would ahve taken alt longer if not for man intervention. 11. Many people are more creative and productive on weed, although some are not Reasons alcohol and cigarettes should be illegal: 1. Acohol KILLS. Both the person consuming it, and the people unfortunate to come in contact with a drunk driver. 2. Cigarettes KILL, more than 25% of most health car budgets are the result of cigarette smokers, these people are a HUGE drain on society. Those of you here that are ANTI-WEED, one simple instruction for you. Take any music or movies you own and throw them out, about 95% of these were created by people who were/are high. If you buy products that were produced by someone who was high at the time, you are endorsing their use of weed, and so supporting it. How can you be against it if you support it? I see a contradiction here.
