The pictures don't adequately show the scale of this subwoofer - it is bigger than it seams and weighs nearly 40lbs. The white anodized aluminum cone is totally unique and absolutely beautiful!
TC9 woofers have an exceptionally high (BL)2/Re of 140! The TC9 drivers also have an extremely high power handling. Additionally, these drivers have exemplary linearity that can be seen in both the suspension and the motor. These drivers are well suited for either automotive or home theater use. We recommend small vented cabinets (2.0 cu ft for the 15"). The TC9 does exceptionally well in extremely small enclosures with high power amplification 1000-1500 watts.
The woofer has two 2 ohm voice coils. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 1 ohm load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents an 4 ohm load. In addition, each coil may be connected to a different amplifier channel and each channel will see a 2 ohm load. Great performance can be found in both sealed and ported enclosures. Adding to its versatility is the ability to perform in both small or large enclosures. In general, power handling will decrease as box size increases.
