[QUOTE="brianhalv, post: 2933529, member: 575732"] Okay I have a pioneer 50x4 head unit, two 400 RMS audiobohn flame qs, and a 1600 watt sound storm amp. Last night we tried bridging it, but the amp wouldnt be able to handle it so we didn't do it. After that, I played my system (pretty loud, not louder than other times though) and I started smelling something that smelt like blown speaker. I turned off my cd player and we pulled over to check it out. When I turned my cd player back on again, if I put the volume past 12 ( I usually bump at like 30 ) the subs would hit a loud, low note and hold it. Even when I turned the volume to 00, the note kept playing until I would shut the cd player off. We re-ran the RCA cables so they weren't by the power cable, made sure everything was hooked up right ( ie. positives/negatives ), and they still do it. When the car is on the subs bump really soft. Whenever I do something like start my car or turn on my headlights you can hear it hit too. I talked to a couple of our local radio shack employees and they said to switch the RCA's and check the ground. Well, the ground is fine and we switched to brand new RCA cable. Does anybody have an idea? This is probably the weirdest thing I've ever seen a system do.
