Like the title says, I have the opportunity to do a system in a 1978 Z28 Camaro Drag Car. It belongs to my friend's dad, and he asked me to do the system. This is a drag car that he is building, but he wants it to be nice for shows and stuff too. Budget for the system components is probably less than a grand. Just some stats for the car 1978 Z28 Camaro Body 350 Chevy bored to 355 Edelbrock 4 barrel carb Gear-Drive Timing Headers, Purple Hornies Glass Packs Cowl induction hood Z28 Style wheels with Mickey Thompson Drag Radials Est. 450 HP, mid 12sec 1/4 Anyway, this car is a tribute to a friend of his who was murdered, and he wants it to be a showcar as well as a balls-out street-legal dragster. I will be doing a simple system that will sound good but not weigh the car down too much. Sub and amps will come out for races. I will be doing 6.5 Comps up front, Single 12" woofer sealed in the trunk, fiberglass enclosure. I was thinking go with Phoenix Gold for the bang-for-the-buck qualities and good sound. So either rSD or TX comps with a single 12" rSD subwoofer Probably go with Profile amps unless someone has a better suggestion Head Unit is undecided, probably Alpine or Pioneer. Looking for a nice Head Unit for about $200ish Let me know if you guys have any good ideas
