Man have i fallen behind on this thread Insignificant? Hardly. I tried my d*mndest to make the SX work. It just crapped out on the power i had going to it while the type-r took it on MUSIC. Not to mention that i did this test BEFORE the whole type-r hype (hence my user title). In fact, i think my test results STARTED the type-r boner. We've done MANY more comparison tests My test just started a barrage of tests against other subs The prices for the 15's are similar, but the 10's and 12's are MUCH cheaper. I paid $100 shipped for a brand new type-r, a 10" SX is gonna cost $260 shipped. The 15" type-r HAS to be more expensive because it actually has a bigger motor and coil than the 10" and 12" versions, while the SX uses the same coil and motor for all the sizes. Throw a sub 40 hz note at an MT and see what kind of score it puts up. How about a nine.1 per sub? Not to mention the type-r LOVED the power i fed it when i had both amps on it (each nine.1 at .5 ohm nominal) and the SX couldn't even get a burp off. Basically, the SX got its *** kicked in many installs. I don't know how to make it any clearer. Alot of the bashing comes from people who have ZERO experience with it, or simply hate it because 1) it's the new forum boner, 2) they own the sub that the type-r beat, 3)they support/push the company that the type-r beat.
