super weird stereo problem - Altima 3.5SE Hi, I have a very wierd problem with the Sound system in my car, here are the details: Nissan Altima 2005 3.5SE with non-bose stereo. Stereo unit is factory default Clarion PN-26717 (made in Japan), 4 speakers + 2 front tweeters. The problem is when listening to AudioCD, the sound from the entire left side (both front driver and rear left passenger) comes and goes depending on the car's movement, If i accelerate hard or go over a speed-bump the sound from the left-side will come back, when i brake it goes away (only from the left side speakers). Sometimes If i hit the stereo unit with my hand the sound (left side) will come for a while. The problem is only happening with AudioCD. Using Tape and FM/AM radio all speakers are working always. Also the problem only affects the left side speakers, all the right side speakers work perfectly (even with AudioCD). I took the stereo out of the car today (I have the factory service repair manual) and checked the wires coming into it from the car, none of them looked damaged. ** My understanding is: ** It seems to me that the problem is related to some loose wire (perhaps inside the unit itself) because my car driving behavior affects the sound. There are no problems with the speakers as they are working perfectly in FM/AM and Tape mode. Any idea what could be happening ? Unfortunately there aren't any shops here that fix stereos, so my last resort will be an expensive replacement. Even though i am a beginner at this taking apart the car stuff, i'd really love to fix the problem even if it involves opening the unit itself. thanks
