[QUOTE="BreakingBad, post: 4428785, member: 569807"] Ok so currently im running: stock alt (150a), chevy TB 2005 stock battery under hood deka G31 in rear with us amps 1.5kw amp now, even knowing this sub is underpowered and i don't necessarily have the electrical backing, this thing was pounding. youtube.com/lowhz420 anyway, all of a sudden here's what happened: i would say, have my HU on volume 8 or 10 and there was NICE output. i would never really push past 18 or 20 on the HU being i dont want to blow the amp, distort, etc. even though the HU goes past 25 or 30. anyway.....literally ALL of a sudden, its now where i have to have the HU on say volume 15 to acheive the output i used to have on volume 8 or 10. can this be a sign something in the amp internally blew, or could it be the alternator failing? i've had issues with this amp before (capacitor, etc.) so its def a possibility... i plan on replacing batt under hood with yellow top and contacting ohio gen. for a HO alternator also with possibly adding a second deka G31 battery along with getting a sundown saz-3000 to replace this amp. my question is: does this sound more like an alternator issue or amp issue? i know you cant say for sure, but what -could- do that? theorhetical example: before: volume @ 8 output: 100db after: volume @ 8 output: 50db random numbers used, just to give you an idea of what happened. i checked all connections, voltage is not dropping - i can achieve the same output i normally do on say volume 15 or 20, but i have to turn it up way past that now to like 25 or higher to achieve the same effect. any ideas?
