[QUOTE="nick908, post: 5082545, member: 602748"] So me and my friend were in his garage today checkin out his jeep and he had a box with two of these JL Audio 8W1's sitting around. I have a brand new 8w1 in the back of my truck and he said i could have bothh of these, but i only took one cause the other was messed up. My question is, what is up with the cardboard trim going around the top. Its pretty messed up and i wanna know if i can replace it with anything. i hooked it up in the box i have my 8 in right now and it sounded good until i cranked it and it sounded like somethng was loose in the sub. the wiring was completely half ***ed cause the crimps i used were for 16g and i was running 12g. i assume that wwould cause problems with alot of power running through it but im no expert.
