The purpose of the dedicated alt, is exactly what it sounds like. I can run my system until the battery is dead because the stereo's electrical system is separate fromthe vehicles. The dedicated alt also makes sure that i have lots of juice for my system. Before I installed the dedicated Alt, I had alot of problems with my amps draining the battery because the factory Alt couldn't keep up. Now I am gauranteed to never have to worry about not being able to start my car because of a dead battery, plus always have tunes, even when the stereo battery is completely dead, I just start the car, give the second Alt a quick boost (because you need to power the field coil, but you knew that, I hope), and my music is back. This will be my last post. I will no longer visit this forum. The sole reason for this is that too many people here have above average levels of Arrogance and/or Ignorance. I'm pointing at Alaxan, Wonderbread, Chris229, and any others that figured I knew nothing about Car audio simpy because I have a few low end components in my system. I only made one claim that could not be supported and I retracted that claim as soon as it was proven wrong. You guys are down right rude, and figure you know everything because you can afford to buy more expensive equipment than others. You people just lost a helpful source of information. I was going to put a lik to these forums on my web page, but I don't any of my pages visitors to be subject to what your insults. And Alaxan, I agree with CarAudioAddict, You do have a low end component in your system. To tell the truth the quality of that part makes even Pyramid look GOOD. To figue out what I'm talking about read his post in this forum.
