Either would do fine for groundpounding probably. The Mags can groundpound better than most other woofers I've used. But my music tastes are extremely diverse. Not only do I enjoy the good ground pound every now and agian I listen to a wide variety of reggae, from DeeJaying to Ska. I also listen to a good ammount of rock from different eras. Then there are a select few bands/singers from other genre's that I listen to. For me I wasnt going to risk any loss in SQ by going to the Q's. If my music tastes where what they where 3-4 years ago when I though all new rock was Emo and before I really started to listen to raeggae all the time I would have opted for the Q's simply because it doesnt matter what the toneal quality is when the subwoofer is only produceing one or two sinewaves on top of eachother at a time. However, right now for the price of a mag I will STILL reccomend the mag if it's coils fit an amp you are looking at using because your music preference may change after the first few months of grounpounding. When I first got my Avalanche in all I did was blast rap, then I matured quickly as I got sick of monotone beats all of the time. Some people wont change diversity like I did, others may. For the price right now I deffanitely say Mag no matter what.
