Message: <blockquote data-quote="hispls" data-source="post: 8757692" data-attributes="member: 614752">Impedance is dependent on frequency.  At some frequencies your amp may be seeing your nominal load or possibly less, at others it may be seeing 5x that.  To put this in perspective 3000W is the large burner on your electric range when it's glowing orange.  It's astounding how people seem to think that somehow loudspeaker manufacturers can somehow make 150g of 22 gauge aluminum wire hold that without issue by just drilling a couple holes in the pole vent or whatever.   I think the industry itself is as much at fault as anybody for not trying to explain any of this, but at the end of the day Boss 4K still probably out-sells SALT 4k by a ratio of 10,000:1. Or in other words, if it sounds good it is good, but when your coil starts to smell funny turn it down a bit.</blockquote>
