[QUOTE="DOOM_NX, post: 5093051, member: 602868"] Hi, I own the configuration stated below: 1x Pioneer DEH-4000UB head unit 2x Hertz DCX165 60W RMS coax front speakers 2x Hertz DCX690 95W RMS coax rear speakers 1x MTX XT12-44 250W RMS 12" DVC sub 1x Hertz EP4 amplifier Amplifier is supposed to give 2x60W (4Ohm) + 1x190W (4Ohm) RMS. In my config, it drives the DCX690 pair and the Sub. However, because sub is DVC and I didn't want to use just 1 voice coil, I wired the 2 vc in series, resulting an impedance of 8 Ohm. I'm not sure what power can the amp deliver in 8 Ohm mode... Well for the last 2 days I've been trying to set the gains on the amp correctly using a variety of methods... I've tried setting it by ear which is ok for main speakers but almost always I was clipping the subwoofer to death... I've also tried using a DMM which actually worked well with subwoofer gain... But when it comes to the DCX690, setting the gain with a DMM results in audible distortion when playing 1KHz sine wave at 0dB (read from a .wav file on a USB stick)... But if I crank up some music to play, everything sounds ok... What's going wrong? Those speakers are supposed to distort over 95W, not at 57... Can u suggest any other method to make sure there is no distortion apart from the expensive oscilloscope? Thanks in advance, Doom PS: Volume on HU is 46/62 and gain on the amp is around 3 o'clock...
