sound like bottoming out..

im just wondering is it cuz im not powering it with what it wants or what.....cuz it makes a poppin sound when i play it kinda loud.....and when i play a really low not say a bass tone.....is this good or bad or just need more power "its a mtx 81000D" is the amp.

well that popping sound is definitely more bad than good... Maybe you half-blew the sub...

But if you have the gains up really high, that could also be the problem. Generally, I never turn the gains up more than 3/4 of the way.

you set the gains correctly via that sticky tutorial? Otherwise it might be something mechanically wrong wit the sub.. I dont know.
