So this guy on craigslist replied to my craigslist add about wanting to get some raamat or other sound deadoning material and he says... I have a bmw 318is should i just get some of the stuff and do it myself. I just have a lot of annoying rattles and squeeks runk lid - 40 min Doors - 35 min EACH Trunk floor, sides (rear 1/4s), rear decklid - 2 hours (rear deck lid usually means WHOLE HEADLINER REMOVAL) Cabin floor (seats, center, carpet) 3 hours Dash, kicks - 1 hour Thats just the basics with no hang ups. The rammat site also shows another material that they sell for in between panels and such for very cheap.....works wonders. Time consuming was meant to represent the fact that there is real labor involved....about $300 in all. Most shops I believe start at $500 on just the labor for a full deadning job. Good luck! If you need help or equipment let me know, I do KILLER enclosure fabrication, fiberglass ect. do custom mobile electronics work I get dealer prices on sound deadning, I get either Rammat or HushMat . Do you need it installed too? Plan on spending NO LESS than $160.00 on the mat itself and that's a lowball estimate. The installation can get pricey at stores but I am in need of work and will give a fat pricebreak if you need my services. I have been doing this a long time. I had a shop in SR for 2 years and I have been installing for 10. Refs, pics, proof is all available. Quiz me if you feel like it! Sound deading is EASY. BUT it means full dissasembly of all areas to be applied to. Time consuming is what the pricey part means. And I have dealer prices on Rammat like I said, so I could go a little lower. I also have dealer prices on Hushmat. NO bs, I have real distributors and I have no reason to BS you. EBay is wholesale prices, but I can get warranties and all that stuff.
