DO NOT BUY FROM SONIC ELECTRONIX. let me tell you what happened with my purchase. I bought an Eclipse CD 5000 from these guys. It went (buttons broke, lights didnt work, brand new cd's skipped) about 11 months into it. What they FAIL to make clear to you is that when you ship it back for replacement or repair, it takes SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS. NO head unit for 2 months. **** that. I *****ed, because it wasnt made clear to me during my purchase, and after fighting with the RMA manager (of whom was a complete prick *******) he said if i paid the $40 upgrade [difference in price between the 5000 and 5100], he would just ship me out an Eclipse CD5100 new, full warranty, as if i just bought it. 3 months after that, THAT head unit went (i will never buy eclipse again) Contacted him back...he said I DIDNT HAVE A WARRANTY...i said dude...I JUST talked to YOU on the phone 2 months ago...you know who i am...why are you lying to me? He then hesitated, and said he cant help me. I demanded a full refund, as my RECEIPT was my warranty...he refused. Got my credit card company involved, to do a charge-back, and they refused (After filling out a dozen forms and mailing them receipt after receipt) - they first said i didn't provide my receipt...which i mailed TWO copies, they acknowledged they got my letter, but no receipt? ROFL. **** my penis Visa. the second time around, they said i didn't provide proof of warranty - which i told them the site STATES YOUR RECEIPT IS YOUR WARRANTY. the dumbasses at Chase Visa didn't realize this, and 6 months later nada. Opened a BBB complaint with both SE and Chase; an "investigative account specialist" from chase contacted me and within 3 days had a $400 credit on my visa. almost a YEAR of bullshit because of a stupid prick at SE. I would NEVER buy from them. just fork out the extra money and go crutchfield.
