Here to ask the question. I've ran the Solo X for years now. I have been nothing but impressed with it, so don't try to talk crap about it. They have been discontinued by Kicker now and are such going to become a rarity. Since I can't get 8 of them for my big build, I am moving to RF stuff (I have the deal of the century don't talk me out of that one either) My question is: How well would TRFs do daily on music in 5.5 cu. each 1500w each comparatively to the Solo X. Ignore the fact that I would be going to 15" RFs vs the 12" X (doing it so I won't have to do another box). Compare them as though I were doing 2 12s. I know the 15s are more cone area and already have an advantage there. Solo Xs get way down and absolutely kill in the upper 30s- low 40s. What does the curve look like on a TRF? How musical is it really? Will OEM soft parts take years of abuse on 1500w daily? My reasoning is: I want to try something different, and as RF may be helping me out with the "big" build, why not show some love in my "small" build? Besides my local shop is slowly but surely getting out of Kicker so I'm not actually helping promote them since I'm running subs that can't even be purchased there. Discuss. All opinions are welcome. Thanks.
