Hey, been on this forum for a couple of weeks. Mostly I've been looking at the audio setups and looking. But I've been wanting to redo my sound system. I currently have in my possession are 2 C12 12" Kicker Comp Clarion APX4240 400W 4Ch Amp XPlod 1000W Amp 6.5" Pioneer Coaxial Speakers (Fronts) 6x9 Pioneer Coaxial Speakers (Rears) Pioneer DEH-P5000UB Headunit Everything is installed in my car except the 12" subs w/ amp. I like my sound system but it sucks. :| I was told to use components for the fronts, and keep the coaxial in the rear which I think I going to do. But looking through some build jobs, I'd like to keep the interior speakers for vocal and some mid bass. Is there any suggestion you guys would want to give? Also I was thinking about pre-amp equalizers, should I put one in or not? And how do you tune a Amp/Speakers/Subs to sound great even at high volume levels. I keep my HU around 25 (max is 62) which LOUDNESS set to HIGH, SLV @ +4 ( I use the AUX for my IPod ) and the Equalizer the HU has at LOW @ 100HZ, MID @ 1KHz, HIGH @ 12KHz. And in certain songs the speakers distort especially the tweeters on the A-Piller. How should I properly tune the audio in my car? I tried putting my HU on full blast and getting it to sound right but it wasn't a success, and i smelled burning speaker and it only came from the back, am I over powering the rear speakers? And would a X-over work with a 3 way 6x9 Coaxial speaker with a 3" Mega Tweeter as the tweeter on the X-over?
