[QUOTE="mdclermont, post: 8559514, member: 672747"] I have had my 2006 Honda CR-V since it was new. The stereo system is OEM except the head unit I put in last January, it is a Pioneer AVH-X2700BS. I mostly use it to listed to hard rock, hip-hop, contemporary Christian praise & worship. The other day I went to a local shop operated by some great fellows. They use JL Audio almost exclusively and gave me a quote for a single 12" W6 in the rear 5-channel amp, two sets of door speakers (one with the tweeters for dash) and installation. It was more than I wanted to spend so I checked out Crutchfield. They got it down to a price I can live with but I think I can do better. In general, I don't have to have JL Audio and in particular the front-door replacement speakers are the "JL Audio C3-525 Evolution™ C3 Series 5-1/4" convertible component" which are $430 for the pair. I don't mind paying for JL Audio if this is worth it in terms of quality or that front-door replacement if it cuts down on having to remove the dash or something that is really time consuming. The cargo space is empty but I pretty regularly have to transport my dogs so if I were to put a big speaker enclosure back there it would need to not be permanent and to have a quick-disconnect. The ones I have seen so far for the single JL 12" W6 or W3 wouldn't have to be removed. She said I would have to fabricate a couple of brackets.
