The HU choice is about what kind of stuff you want to feed into the amp. AM/FM? HD Radio? Satellite? CD's? DVD's? iPods? Memory sticks? Memory cards? Do you want to add some DIN 1/2 accessories like EQ's, voltmeters, DVD players and such? Do you want a screen? A nav system? Perhaps a multi-CD changer and having the HU being compatible with it? The location of Virginia suggests you will be within range of HD Radio broadcasts, so you may wish to look at that option. See what you currently have in hand for home and portable audio to figure out what kind of other items that will work for a HU. You also have the option of sticking with the factory radio and going with a line-level amp to save money that can go toward a better grade of speakers. The door mount speakers of a Grand Marquis are ideally suited for upgrading for SQ, much better than my poor old Brougham...LOL! Once you prioritize your wants, the solution will fall into place...I hope! Rick
