salvaged title? why people dont like it?

what exactly does it mean and why do people always talk about it in a negative way? is it really that bad?

salvaged means the insurance company declared it as a totaled vehicle? but fixable...

usually floods, theft, accidents...

people usually do not know what happened to the vehicle or why it was given the salvage status, some cars are a steal though...its just the stigma attached with salvage. One assumes that its damaged goods, and why get dammaged goods when u can spend a little more for something else

If your gonna buy the car to drive it and not re rell it later, salvage is the way to go. You can usually check what happened to a salvage car by using carfax. You pay like 20 bucks and you can use it unlimited times for a month. These days cars are salvaged for the most retarded things such as scrapes or scratches. My friend bought an 03 navigator from an auction and it has a salvaged title, guess what, its because the wheels were stolen. Just make sure to do a carfax report and you will be fine.

I bought my car with a salvaged title.. I ran a carfax, it was salvaged becuz it hit a light pole, no frame damage at all, just took off the fender and hood and a wheel.

Plan on selling soon i think

Salvaged title is not good. If your car has one, the insurance is more expensive. They are more suseptible to risk. Some insurance companies wont' even insure them.
