I have two routers and a switch but only one router is for wifi and thats in the middle of the house. The other is in the basement with the switch. If you need multiple ethernet outputs then a switch is the way to go. If you only need one or two, your router should have two-three extra inputs. If you're just trying to hook up an xbox, I'd just get a 100ft ethernet from amazon and run it to where you need it. There are routers that actually come with a pair of "signal boosters" that can work well if setup correctly. You'd have one main router in one room and then the other two in the upstairs or downstairs or whatever. Only thing is with those ones is that the good ones are expensive. Tbh most routers that support 802.11 ac for wlan should be able to handle a simple wireless gaming setup. Its stupid fast for wireless 99% of the time.
