As I did not have any existing holes in my firewall large enough to get my main power cable from the battery into the car I had to drill a hole and buy a grommet for it. That was the only bit that had to go from outside the cabin to the inside of it. I don't believe we have the Polo stateside either but I saw them when I was in Australia recently and you're right - it's almost like a 7/8 scale model of the Golf What I did when running wires from under the dash and behind the head unit to elsewhere in the car is I took an afternoon that I could essentially waste and more or less disassembled my car's interior. I pulled the seats out, yanked the center console, pulled apart the dashboard, etc.... After getting all my wires where I wanted them I then reassembled the car. No, I'm not telling you it is necessary to go this particular route but when I did it made it really easy to route the various cabling in spots where it cannot become pinched, won't ever be in the way of anything, and it completely hidden from view. All you see audio-wise when inside my car is the front of my HU, the mids and tweets of my front component set, and the tweeters for my rear component set (the mids are hidden under stock grills) The only visible wiring is the power cord to my radar detector
