RL-p 12 vs 15?

I am considering a SS RL-p 12 in a vented box versus a 15 in a sealed box. Due to trunk space I am limited to about 2.5 cu ft box. My amp is a fosgate T5002 bridged to drive the speaker at 2 ohms yielding about 700 watts rms by birth sheet. What characteristic qualities could I expect with either of these woofers? Which set up might be deeper, or louder or tighter etc? My musical tastes are mostly old school soul and occasionally hard hitting rap. My car is a convertible benz and I would like to be able to feel the bass with the top down.

Well, soundsplinter.com says that anywhere from 2.5-3.5 ft.^3 ported will be fine for the 15. So maybe try to squeeze 3.0 out of your trunk, and go with the 15.

Convertible = gay for bass.

You will most likelly need a down firing box...

That's going to limit your options.

in my experiences, a ported 12 of the same sub was just as loud as the sealed 15 but the sealed 15 got lower...

The HC is doing fine. The modified one is really doing well to.
