Not to start anything... well... who we kiddin, yeah it is I do something that the average joe CAN'T do.. and it results in the collecting of $7 Billion a year (or more).. so yeah, I want to get paid for helping to contribute to that.. Does that mean I won't take time out of my schedule to help someone with my knowledge and expertise and do it for free? nope.. I help people all the time (with computer stuff).. do I ask them to help reimburse me the ~$40,000 I spent on getting those tools and equipment to be able to do that? nope.. I've been known to spend HOURS (read 6 - 8 at a time) helping someone for free.. SOOOOoooooooo.... I think it's just as wrong to charge someone for something trivial as it is to charge for water at a disaster site... that's just me.. Though, you make kind of a reasonable point (even though I still have issue with the premise) about it being a small addition to the total 'investment' of a system.. just not an expense I would think should be made given the ease/triviality of it all .. course, I'd not pay (and haven't) to see what my dB level is, even though I'm curious..
